Zuì chū de shí hòu, tiān dì hùn dùn, yǔzhòu xiàng gè dà jī dàn.

Right at the beginning, the world was in chaos, and the universe was like a big egg.

Pán Gǔ jiù zài zhè lǐ dàn shēng le.

Pangu was born in such a place.

Zhēng kāi yǎn jīng hòu, pán Gǔ fā xiàn sì chù yī piàn qī hēi,

Opened his eyes, Pangu found that everywhere was surrounded in absolute darkness.

biàn yòng yī bǎ dà fǔ zi bǎ jī dàn pī kāi le.

he then used a big axe break the egg apart.

Dàn qīng biàn chéng le tiān, dàn huáng biàn chéng le dì.

The egg white became the sky, and the egg yolk became the ground.

Pán gǔ pà jī dàn huì zài hé qǐ lái, jiù yòng tóu dǐng zhe tiān, yòng jiǎo cǎi zhe dì.

Pangu afraid the egg will close together again, so he used his head to carry the sky, and his feet step on the ground.

Zhè yàng yī guò, jiù guò le yī wàn bā qiān nián.

Just like this, 18 thousand years had passed.

Tiān hé de zhōng yú bèi gù dìng zhù le, pán gǔ què lèi dé jīn pí lì jìn, dào zài dì shàng sǐ le.

The sky and the ground finally being fixed at the same place, Pangu was tired to death, he fell on the floor and died.

Lín sǐ shí, tā hū chū de qì biàn chéng le fēng hé yún; fā chū de shēng yīn biàn chéng le léi shēng;

临死时,他呼出的气变成了风和云;发出的声音变成了雷声;

Just before he died, the air he breathed out became winds and clouds; the sounds he made become thunders;

shuāng yǎn biàn chéng le tài yáng hé yuè liàng; shǒu zú hé shēn tǐ biàn chéngle shān;

双眼变成了太阳和月亮;手足和身体变成了山;

His eyes became the sun and the moon; his hands, feet and body became mountains.

xiě yè biàn chéng le jiāng yǔ hǎi; tóu fǎ hé hàn máo biàn chéng le cǎo mù.

His blood became rivers and seas; all of his hair and body hair became vegetation.

Jiù zhè yàng, pán gǔ kāi chuàng le tiān dì.

Like this, Pangu created the world.
